| Top 10 Reasons Why We Offer the Best T1 Consulting Service |
Written by - Patrick Oborn, CTO - ShopforT1
Shopping for an inexpensive T1 line
and determining T1 availability where you live is never easy.
When you go to perform a search in your favorite search
engine, you see millions of pages, all of which claim to save you money. In reality
what your are seeing are a bunch of internet marketing experts who know little
about dedicated service at all. They create simple HTML forms that look like they have been
programmed by a seventh grade student which captures your information, and either
sends it to every vendor in the universe or some in-house former used-car salesman
who will sell you whatever will pay him the biggest bonus. The internet is littered
with this garbage, confusing customers and leaving a sour taste in their collective
mouth. What started out as a search for competitively priced dedicated services
has turned into a circus!
In 2002 my partner, Adam Edwards, and I decided to take the road less traveled. We
realized early on that in order to create an online experience that was worthy of your
time, we needed to provide information you can use - not your typical "enter your
information here and we'll get back to you" elementary page. In order to do this, we
invested a full year researching all of the different
T1 providers in order to understand their pricing models, many of which were created long before we were born.
Based on information we extracted from this research, we invested heavily in complex programming
that would allow us to calculate loop prices, or the cost that the local phone companies pass on to the
dedicated service providers for access to their network. This cost varies by mile,
by market, and by geographic region of the country. Once we rolled up our sleeves
and performed extensive testing, we called our product 'GeoQuote' and released it to the
public on this very web site in 2003. We are currently in the process of patenting this
unique technology.
In this year alone, 205,386 unbiased real-time quotes have been created
by online shoppers just like you. Instead of waiting for days to even see pricing,
we give it to you in just seconds. Throw in the courtesy phone call that you will
receive from one of our certified broadband consultants who can answer your questions,
help you design your network, give you the strengths and weaknesses of each of our
providers - and you have a winning combination.
Don't be fooled by the imitators! Since we launched our site two years ago, many have
attempted to copy our concept, our business model, and even our domain name! It's amazing
how in-style real-time
shopping has become, especially considering that the reaction
we received by our vendors when we divulged our plans to create GeoQuote. Some of the
reactions we received include "that can't be done - it's never been done before" and
"that is an interesting business model". Now these same vendors have become
believers, and our very best partners.
Change has been embraced. Thousands of
T1 line
have been sold across the USA in just the past few months. The way people shop for broadband services will never be the same.
As we go forward, our goal is to continually improve our product, our site, our
knowledge of the industry and products, and most of all, to build a bond with you -
our customer - that will last for years to come. Earning your trust is what we do here.
Saving you money on
Alabama T1 internet access service
is how we keep it.

| Definitions of a T1 Line |
|
Courtesy of ShopforT1.com
Definition 2. - A type of high speed Internet connection that provides a great deal of bandwidth. Many businesses lease T1 lines to connect to the Internet, but because they are expensive and offer more bandwidth than most small businesses and homes need, they are not realistic solutions for small and low-demand Internet users.
Definition 1. - A high-speed digital connection capable of transmitting data at a rate of approximately 1.5 million bits per second.
T1 internet access is typically used by small and medium-sized companies with heavy network traffic. It is large enough to send and receive very large text files, graphics, sounds, and databases instantaneously, and is the fastest speed commonly used to connect networks to the Internet. Sometimes referred to as a leased line, a T1 is basically too large and too expensive for individual home use.
Definition 4. - The T-carrier system, introduced by the Bell system in the US in the 1960's, was the first successful system that supported digitalised voice transmission. The original transmission rate (1.544 Mbps) in the T1 line is in common use today in ISP (Internet Service Provider) connections to the Internet
Definition 3. - The T1 (or T-1) carrier is the most commonly used digital line in the United States, Canada, and Japan. In these countries, it carries 24 pulse code modulation (PCM) signals using time-division multiplexing (TDM) at an overall rate of 1.544 million bits per second (Mbps). T1 lines use copper wire and span distances within and between major metropolitan areas. A
T1 Outstate System has been developed for longer distances between cities.

| T1 Internet Provider Top 10 List |
|
Written by - Zackary Dahl, Staff Writer
While Dave Letterman may never read this list on his show, we've created a Top 10 list of
T1 Internet Providers. In our review of service providers we considered realiabiltiy, customer support, provisioning and financial stability. In our opinion a top provider of services will have a high rating in each of the catagories. Unfortunately some of the providers we found were regional providers and may not be near you but two of them are so good you may just want to move closer to be on their network!
The top company in our survey was Telepacific. The only downside to this company is the fact that they only offer service in California and Las Vegas. Telepacific received top marks in all four or our categories and is what we recommend most to customers in California. The second carrier in our list was USLEC. Like our fist pick USLEC is a regional player offering services in the south and on the eastern seaboard. USLEC was founded and is run by engineers. These people have a passion for getting it right and keeping their customers happy. Number three on our list is New Edge Networks. New Edge is a national player found predominantly in metro areas. New Edge is large enough to be a strong player but still small enough to treat customers like a small company.
Our number four position goes to Netifice, formerly Epoch. Again, a small Tier 1 player but excellent service nationwide. Number five position goesto ACC Business. Available everywhere in the continental US, ACC used the ATT network exclusively and provides a high level of service. Positions six through ten when in the following order: Telarus, Sprint, Xspedius, PNG, and Megapath. When looking for a reliable provider you should be comfortable with any of these. Make sure you speak to your broker about the strengths and weaknesses of each carrier. While our rankings were based evenly on the four criteria mentioned at the beginning of the article you may decide that some criteria are more important to you than others. Good luck in your search.

T1 Internet - Life in the Fast Lane
|

Ever used a t1 internet connection? Upgrading to this level of service is like going from an old used car to a new sports car. You'll feel the speed imediately! While both T1 and DSL connections claim to have a speed of 1.5Mbps, the former actually delivers it's claim. DSL and cable connections are severely oversubcribed and cannot always deliver the bandwidht they project expecially at peak hours. Ready to feel the difference? You may have already if your office has critical applications that use the web. If your office hosts e-mail, webservers or more than 20 people on internet access you most likely already have a dedicated T1 connection. If not, get one fast!!
A T1 internet connection is ideal because of it's reliability. Not only is it not oversubscribed, it also has low latency which mean fewer delays. Latency becomes critical in applicaions like video on demand, webconferencing, and gaming. While the latter may not seem so important, gamers require some of the best internet connections and are a good source for information on the top internet products available.
If you're ready to move into the fast lane or to put your office on a reliable connection that you should have anyway, get some advise from a broker that deals in
T1 services. Brokers don't mark up the price of services. They offer the same price you would get if you did go direct to the company. The advantage of ordering through a broker is that you will get a second channel of customer service. If the company is not performing to expectation you will always be able to go back to your broker who puts a significant volume through the carrier. A broker is much more likely to get the companies attention and have your problem solved. In our opinion, a broker is the only way to go!

| Virtual Private Networks (VPN) 101 |
Written by - Hunter Sheffield, Staff Writer
As the VPN market approaches maturity at a brisk pace, vendors have been forced to rethink the tradition identity of their IP Security-based technology for letting users securely access enterprise resources via the Internet. Most large companies in need of linking their offices together have done so on frame relay networks. Although frame is still a useful product many users have found that the reduced cost of VPN gives them an attractive alternative.
'During the last 18 months, vendors have pushed VPN technology into different devices, have lessened the distinction between VPN and firewall products, and have demonstrated a strong willingness to deviate from standardized technology to meet corporate remote access requirements. VPN services now come bundled with many dedicated services and several service providers are using VPN products as a loss leader so they can sell circuits. When investigating the use of VPN products make sure you speak with a professional who can guide you through the strengths as well as the weaknesses of the product. While it is a cost reduced alternative to frame it is a different product and should be thoroughly researched.
Our Page Keywords Are: Alabama frame relay Alabama t1 line Alabama t1 connection Alabama t1 service Alabama t1 provider Alabama t1 internet Alabama t1 internet connection Alabama t1 service provider Alabama t1 price Alabama t1 speed Alabama t1 internet service Alabama t1 internet access Alabama fractional t1 Alabama t1 bandwidth Alabama t1 internet service provider Alabama t1 internet provider Alabama t1 pricing Alabama t1 internet services
Alabama t1 services.
These keywords provide a brief overview of the services offered by Shopfort1.
One of the advantages of a VPN is that internet access is not based only on the hub and spoke layout. The users away from the hub are able to access the internet through their own connection rather than going through the hub and creating a bottleneck. Users will only need to connect through the hub if they need to access information from the central database. When researching alternatives such as VPN, like always, we recommend you consult with a professional and not just a salesman for a VPN company. Make sure the individual you speak with is unbiased and will give you the strengths and weaknesses of each product. We recommend one of the brokers at
ShopforT1.com
for unbiased recommendations of multiple carriers.
