| Top 10 Reasons Why We Offer the Best T1 Consulting Service |
Patrick Oborn, CTO - ShopforT1
Shopping for an inexpensive T1 line
and determining T1 availability where you live is never easy.
When you go to perform a search in your favorite search
engine, you see millions of pages, all of which claim to save you money. In reality
what your are seeing are a bunch of internet marketing experts who know little
about dedicated service at all. They create simple HTML forms that look like they have been
programmed by a seventh grade student which captures your information, and either
sends it to every vendor in the universe or some in-house former used-car salesman
who will sell you whatever will pay him the biggest bonus. The internet is littered
with this garbage, confusing customers and leaving a sour taste in their collective
mouth. What started out as a search for competitively priced dedicated services
has turned into a circus!
Adam Edwards, and I decided to take the road less traveled. We
realized early on that in order to create an online experience that was worthy of your
time, we needed to provide information you can use - not your typical "enter your
information here and we'll get back to you" elementary page. In order to do this, we
invested a full year researching all of the different
T1 providers in order to understand their pricing models, many of which were created long before we were born.
Based on information we extracted from this research, we invested heavily in complex programming
that would allow us to calculate loop prices, or the cost that the local phone companies pass on to the
dedicated service providers for access to their network. This cost varies by mile,
by market, and by geographic region of the country. Once we rolled up our sleeves
and performed extensive testing, we called our product 'GeoQuote' and released it to the
public on this very web site in 2003. We are currently in the process of patenting this
unique technology.
In this year alone, 207,847 unbiased real-time quotes have been created
by online shoppers just like you. Instead of waiting for days to even see pricing,
we give it to you in just seconds. Throw in the courtesy phone call that you will
receive from one of our certified broadband consultants who can answer your questions,
help you design your network, give you the strengths and weaknesses of each of our
providers - and you have a winning combination.
Don't be fooled by the imitators! Since we launched our site two years ago, many have
attempted to copy our concept, our business model, and even our domain name! It's amazing
how in-style real-time
shopping has become, especially considering that the reaction
we received by our vendors when we divulged our plans to create GeoQuote. Some of the
reactions we received include "that can't be done - it's never been done before" and
"that is an interesting business model". Now these same vendors have become
believers, and our very best partners.
Change has been embraced. Thousands of
T1 lines
have been sold across the USA in just the past few months. The way people shop for
broadband services will never be the same.
As we go forward, our goal is to continually improve our product, our site, our
knowledge of the industry and products, and most of all, to build a bond with you -
our customer - that will last for years to come. Earning your trust is what we do here.
Saving you money on
Florida T1 service
is how we keep it.

| Definitions of a T1 Line |
|
Courtesy of ShopforT1.com
Definition 3. - The T1 (or T-1) carrier is the most commonly used digital line in the United States, Canada, and Japan. In these countries, it carries 24 pulse code modulation (PCM) signals using time-division multiplexing (TDM) at an overall rate of 1.544 million bits per second (Mbps).
T1 lines use copper wire and span distances within and between major metropolitan areas. A T1 Outstate System has been developed for longer distances between cities.
Definition 2. - A type of high speed Internet connection that provides a great deal of bandwidth. Many businesses lease T1 lines to connect to the Internet, but because they are expensive and offer more bandwidth than most small businesses and homes need, they are not realistic solutions for small and low-demand Internet users.
Definition 4. - The T-carrier system, introduced by the Bell system in the US in the 1960's, was the first successful system that supported digitalised voice transmission. The original transmission rate (1.544 Mbps) in the T1 line is in common use today in ISP (Internet Service Provider) connections to the Internet
Definition 1. - A high-speed digital connection capable of transmitting data at a rate of approximately 1.5 million bits per second. A
T1 line is typically used by small and medium-sized companies with heavy network traffic. It is large enough to send and receive very large text files, graphics, sounds, and databases instantaneously, and is the fastest speed commonly used to connect networks to the Internet. Sometimes referred to as a leased line, a T1 is basically too large and too expensive for individual home use.

| T1 Internet Connection Basics |
|
At the most fundamental level, a
t1 internet connection is the link from your companies data infrastructure to the rest of the world. A T1 connection is sometimes referred to as a "dedicated service" as the service is delivered to and from the customer premise from the CO (Central Office) without combining it with other traffic. A T1 connections is established by providing a "loop" or wire from the users premesis to the CO where the service provider has equipment. Part of the cost of a T1 is the "loop charge" or the monthly rental fee for the wire that is rented from the local phone company. Once the connection reaches the CO it can access the carriers network and reach any destination.
While understanding the service may be somewhat straightforward, getting the service implemented is not always so easy. Like any business decision, a switch in
T1 providers should be properly researched. You probably don't have time to listen to all carriers sales pitches that you should in order to get the best service, however. Consider shopping in real time by using a broker at
Shop4T1.com. While a broker is always a time saver in telecom shopping, the creators of Shop4T1.com have made it even easier to shop for T1 service by introducing the first real-time bandwidth and loop calculator.
With real-time information you'll be able to quickly analyze service plans in your area and determine what is right for you. The people at
ShopForT1.com have created a system that equalizes the carriers and makes them easier to compare by laying them out side by side and showing the features of each service. Need more help? They also have agents that will assist you free of charge. These agents make their money when you sign with one of the many service providers so you don't have to worry about them pushing you into a contract that you don't want with a carrier that you don't want. Get your price, ask your questions and be certain when you make your choice.

| Is a T1 Connection Better than DSL? |
|
Is a
T1 connection better than a
DSL connection? A more appropriate questions might be "Is a T1 connection MORE APPROPRIATE than a DSL connections. A T1 connection and DSL connection both offer bandwidth at high speed but have two factors that greatly differentiate them from one another. Those factors are price and realiability. A DSL connection has a low price and is less reliable than a T1 connection. A T1 is much more expensive than a
DSL connection but is also much more reliable.
So are you looking for reliablity or price? Reliability becomes critical when customers or employees depend on your connection for immediate responses. If your customers use your connection to access your databases or your server or the internet then reliability of your connection is critical. If your employees depend on your connections because you host the e-mail server in house or host web servers, your connections is considered critical. A critical connection can be viewed much like a life line, without which your business would be negatively impacted. Your monthly savings of having a sub-par connections will not make up for the loss in productivity of your employees or loss of customers when your
DSL connections gets bogged down or cut off. To reiterate, ciritcal connections should be supported with a
T1 connection.
Many customers are extremely price sensitive and cannot afford the cost of a T1 which can be as much as 20 times more expensive than a full T1 connection. Residential customers who are most sensitive to price should not consider a T1 connection unless then have a business reason to pay for such a circuit and cannot access
DSL service. You may get lucky and find a T1 connections that is low cost which would give you both price and realiability but be careful. Many T1's sold for less than $600 are not truely dedicated circuits and are oversubcribed. In short, if price is your critical factor go with
DSL. If reliability is the critical factor purchase a dedicated T1.

| 1.54 MBPS = T1 Speed! |

Written by - Debra Johannesburg
T1 speed connections aren't just for large corporations any more. As pricing declines many people are opting for the more reliable and flexible service over a
DSL connection. Also, the growing number of bandwidth hungry applications like ASP service, VOIP, streaming video and graphic heavy files are pushing the demand for more reliable connections. So, what does it take to get one of these connections?
Getting a connection isn't as complicated as it was just two years ago. Products have been streamlines and bundled for small businesses to be able to take advantage. While a standard connection was between $1,000 and $2,000 just a few years ago a small business can now find integrated service including both voice and data on a single line for as little as $500! For most companies this is comparable the the price they already pay for DSL service and their phone service. So why not switch?

Switching to a more reliable connection is not only less expensive than a few years ago, the implementation has been streamlined. Companies quote a minimum of 30 days to perform an installation but some can perform the implementation in as few as 20 days! While this is possible with some companies not all companies are capable of this speed yet. Much of the imlementation process is handled by the LEC (Local Exchange Carrier) and is out of the hand of your service provider. With the reduced price and streamlined implementation available you may want to reconsider your current connections and get a large company service at a small company price.
